“[…] Under the direction of Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier, Peeping Tom’s seven players present a strong, sometimes sad, play of life. […] The dancing here is of the highest technical standards. The performers roll acrobatically across the floor of the stage, jump fearlessly from pedestals, and sometimes disappear to general amusement in the sofa’s upholstery. […] Peeping Tom display an astonishing range of ideas - but they are well known for that in Hanover. […]” Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, 1 September 2012

All we have in life is just temporarily on loan. This is shown by Belgian artists’ collective Peeping Tom in their piece “À Louer / For Rent”: Reputations, property, human relations and even one’s own life can be here one minute and gone the next. The scene is a grand salon with a life of its own and countless doors leading into the unknown. Like in a daydream, the boundaries between reality and the imagined, past and present, space and time, are blurred. This opens the gates for surreal encounters between the protagonists, who are driven by desires, fantasies and fears: The lady of the house gets intimate with her servant; a prima donna looks back on her heyday; along come husband, son and guests. Acrobatic dance, drama, powerful singing and a touch of black humour combine to create a stage experience of the very special kind.

(Approx. 80 min.)
