TANZtheater INTERNATIONAL: Hannover Edition 2020

Special times required a special TANZtheater INTERNATIONAL in 2020.

From September 12th until September, 14th, 2020, we presented the Hannover Edition in a much smaller format, but with the clear will to promote contemporary dance for at least three days at the Orangerie Herrenhausen. With this unusual festival edition, the 35th, the friends of dance have been confronted with the variety of dance forms in the State Capital. The Hannover Edition as a commitment to dance - an articulation of an art that stands for liveliness.

The Hannover Edition offered an evening program with an one-hour tour d’Horizon of dance vocabulary on all three days at the Orangerie Herrenausen.

It presented works by Michèle Seydoux and Giovanni Visone (both at the Staatsballett Hannover), as well as Francisco Baños Diaz (winner of the 2020 digitally held International Choreography Competition), Marco Goecke, choreographer and ballet director of the Staatsballett Hannover with the solo TUÉ, also passages from ZERO, with Minako Seki and Yumiko Yoshioka, a Commedia Futura production and excerpts from the work CHEER (on September, 12th and 13th), which Felix Landerer was previously only able to show via stream.

Dance at a distance and yet very close. Vive la danse!
